Portrait of a Commander
[edit]- ... that Portrait of a Commander (pictured) sold for £9 million ($13.7 m) in 2010, despite doubts over its authenticity as a Rubens?

- Comment: Note: at AFD when nominated, by now rewritten and headed for Keep. I have not included the original creator in the nom as, though within the time limit, that version was headed for deletion & was probably mostly a copyvio. Article now completely rewritten. - Just noting this is listed at AfD although its looking like a quick Keep at this point. I also bolded the article title in the hook. Thingg⊕⊗ 18:58, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
- AFD now closed as Keep. Johnbod (talk) 00:57, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
- Article is new enough, long enough, adequately referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Hook ref verified and cited inline. Image is public domain. QPQ done. I formatted the references, and found one dead link which needs to be taken care of. Also, all of the references except for Christies titles the painting A Commander Being Armed For Battle. - A Commander Being Armed For Battle was the old title used at Althorp, but like Christie's I wonder, how do they know anyway? 1613 was an unusually peaceful point in Western Europe. I've added a redirect, but there is no need for us to follow beyond that. Dead link replaced. Johnbod (talk) 02:46, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
