- Comment: Note that the GA bot has apparently gone haywire and decided the article has failed, but you can see the passed GA review at Talk:Pokey Allen/GA2.
We'll get the GA icon on the article before it runs on the main page. Now fixed.

- Article passed GA on the day of its nominations here and is clearly long enough. It is well-cited and well-formatted overall, as one might expect from a GA, and the sources appear reliable. The QPQ review is done, and the hook fact is quite interesting. The hook comes in at just under 200 characters, but the hook isn't fully supported by the sources or the article. The sources support that the biopsy was on a Wednesday and the diagnosis was on a Monday, but they don't say that the game was on Saturday (which is the logical inference here). One of them says the game was the week before the diagnosis, but doesn't give the day. Some tweaks to the article should be enough to fix this. I checked refs 1, 21, and 22, along with the hook sources, and found one issue: we have "was a standout high school athlete in football, basketball, and track" in the article, and "was a standout in football, basketball and track" in the source. They're a little close to each other for my taste; perhaps some rewording could help. Giants2008 (Talk) 22:42, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Giants2008: I changed that wording. As for the two days, I think I just omitted a necessary source when filling out the DYK template, but it is in the article. Source 30 in the article states he was diagnosed Monday. Source 31 states the championship game was on Saturday. ~ Rob13Talk 23:18, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- You're right. I must have missed the day in ref 31 earlier; sorry about that. This should be ready now, as everything else checked out fine. Giants2008 (Talk) 21:03, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
