Philip Gunn
[edit]- ... that Philip Gunn became the first member of the Republican Party to serve as Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives since 1876?
Created by Muboshgu (talk). Self nominated at 15:38, 17 October 2013 (UTC).
- Hook doesn't make clear how long this was, and is less interesting than it could be because of it; Gunn could have taken the speakership in 1892, which isn't nearly as impressive as 2012, when he did win it. Suggesting ALT1, which adds "in 2012," to the original:
- ALT1: ... that in 2012, Philip Gunn became the first member of the Republican Party to serve as Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives since 1876?
- I've added a few words and the necessary inline sourcing so the revised hook is fully supported in the article. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:42, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
