  • Expanded nine times and large enough. Hook facts are in article and referenced. At least one reference works and confirms the facts. The article is neutral and cites sources. Language in the article however is awkward and may need a copyedit to make it clear. Does anyone else want to improve the writing? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:59, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
copy edited as best as I could. Kanatonian (talk) 20:20, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Close paraphrasing concerns. Examples: "He was ordained priest in 1855 by the Anglican Bishop of Madras, and worked in Madras city till 1856. He then severed his connection with the Society" vs "He was ordained priest in 1855 by the Bishop of Madras, and worked in Madras city till 1856. He then severed his connection with the Society"; "Percival translated hundreds of Tamil proverbs into English and wrote a book on Tamil proverbs. He translated into English the aphorisms of Tamil poetess Avvaiyar. He authored Anglo-Tamil and Anglo-Telugu dictionaries, and published the journal Dinavartamani in Telugu and Tamil from 1855" vs "Percival translated hundreds of Tamil proverbs into English and wrote a book on Tamil proverbs. He translated into English the aphorisms of Tamil poetess Avvaiyar. He authored Anglo-Tamil and Anglo-Telugu dictionaries, and published the journal Dinavartamani in Telugu and Tamil." Just out of interest, how is everyone else getting more of these books than I am? Is the Google Book preview location-based or does it just hate me? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 23:07, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
I've reworded the above mentions two sections to the best of my ability. Kanatonian (talk) 23:25, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Panyd, yes, GBooks is location-based - it limits content based on the copyright law in your jurisdiction, as well as other factors like how much material you've accessed through them recently. Kanatonian, that's much better, but might I suggest you get a third party to copy-edit the article for you? WP:GOCE might be a good place to ask for this. Nikkimaria (talk) 00:16, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Looks like User:Art_LaPella, has looked over the article and fixed a few errors. Thanks Kanatonian (talk) 19:53, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
about 4 sentences are rewritten including the ones mentioned above. If User:Nikkimaria is happy then it is all OK. Good to go again. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:20, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
We also have the issue brought up earlier of whether or not it was the King James Bible that was translated. Could someone who can actually see the sources confirm? PanydThe muffin is not subtle 23:31, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
This source says "based on English Authorised Version of 1611, but made from Greek and Hebrew originals, and from Rhenius", FWIW. Spotcheck of sources now reveals no concerning close paraphrasing. Nikkimaria (talk) 23:52, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
how about:
alt1=... that Peter Percival collaborated with Arumuka Navalar, a Hindu revivalist, to translate the Bible into Tamil?
Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:15, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Alt hook, looks good to me. Thanks guys for all the help in making this article a better one. Kanatonian (talk) 15:03, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
