- Date and length fine. However I have some concerns about the hook. it mentions that Fairbanks was a member of the Order in the 1960s, yet mentions it received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in the 1880s. This suggests that he was not a founder. Also the source that mentions him is a primary source and I'd feel much more comfortable if there was a 3rd party source for it. If you can sort this or reword the hook, I'll have another look at it. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 19:54, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, CofE. The foundation described in the article and referred to in the hook is that of either the American Society of the Order of St John in 1957 or the Priory in the USA in 1996. For both of these, Fairbanks was a founding member. I've written a new hook that pipes "Priory in the USA" to "Order of St John in the US." As for primary sources, the source cited for this fact comes from a profile by the historian of the Priory hosted on the Priory's webpage. I can look for a different source, but perhaps you can explain the problem to me. Thanks again.dave-- 03:48, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Boven: The problem I have is that while the US Order may have been founded in 1957, the article only says he was a member in the 1960s which leads to a bit of doubt as reading the article suggests he may not have originally joined at foundation. Yes, the source mentions him as an "early pioneer" in the founding and I am happy to accept that with regard to the hook but this information is not included in the article. With regard to the Priory in the 1990s, the article only mentions the Duke of Gloucester being present and not Fairbanks being a member at the time either in the article or in the source. - @The C of E: Thanks for your help on this. I've added a new citation that explicitly identifies Fairbanks as a founder of the American Society [1] and have added a new hook that refers to this. Let me know what you think.dave-- 20:55, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
- Good to go then. QPQ not needed as nominator only has 2 credits. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:10, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I'm not sure how it's decided when to put these in the queue, but the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Priory in the USA is this Wednesday (11 May). Might be nice to make this a DYK on that day. Thanks again. --dave-- 18:14, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
