I understand that Off the Air isn't a Good Article now, but a review should be coming in a few days, so I hope for it to be eligible shortly. If not, I'm alright with ALT1.Now a GA. List of Off the Air episodes is a 5x expansion and Dave Hughes (producer) was moved into the mainspace.

- This is one of those rules that I usually ping Orlady to get her take on it. I'm not sure it would be necessary to include the clips quote in the Hughes article. However, the article on Hughes says he's best known for Off the Air, yet there's precious little about the show in his article. If you add to Hughes how many seasons the show has aired plus the quote in the hook, that might improve the balance of his article anyway. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:48, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

- Most content is sourced offline, so a copyvio check is very limited. The first copyvio I checked in the bio shows a spelling discrepancy (footnote 7 (Barfight vs. Bar Fight).--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 23:20, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- Given the amount of direct quotation attributed, I am comfortable that there are no copyvios with a limited ability to check.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 23:21, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
- This is a bit awkward to point out, but over half of the episodes article's prose is copied from the article on the show, including two stretches of 40+ words, two 20+, and a number of shorter ones. By DYK rules (WP:DYKSG#A5),
If some of the text were copied from another Wikipedia article, then it must be expanded fivefold as if the copied text had been a separate article.
The episodes article contains a hair under 2000 prose characters, and of that well over 1000 prose characters have been copied. I don't see how the episodes article is eligible under the circumstances, or that a way can be found to include it as a bold link in the hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:48, 7 September 2014 (UTC)- @BlueMoonset:, @TonyTheTiger: Sorry for the late reply. In the case that the episode list isn't eligible, how do the ALTs look? 23W (talk · stalk) 03:15, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- I just took a look at ALT1 and ALT2 and again did not see the hook in the biography.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:16, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

- I did want to point out that the original hook can still be used, provided that the episodes bold link is reduced to a regular link. I've just unbolded it, and I actually like it better than all of the ALTs, though I haven't checked it for accuracy. I'll let Tony do that. (I've also removed the DYKmake template for the episodes article.) BlueMoonset (talk) 20:21, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

- The episode list was disemboldened from the hooks by BlueMoonset, so it's no longer part of the nomination. 23W (talk · stalk) 21:29, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
- What about this suggestion: "If you add to Hughes how many seasons the show has aired plus the quote in the hook, that might improve the balance of his article anyway."--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 23:15, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
23W, sorry I didn't see this sooner. What I said was "I'm not sure it would be necessary to include the clips quote in the Hughes article", but I'm not sure it wouldn't be. Further, when I later said that the original hook could be used, I meant that it was still eligible to be considered so long as the lists article was unbolded, not that it was approved. I still believe that the Hughes article would be improved by the (I thought quite straight-forward and brief) additions I mentioned back on September 7 that Tony just reiterated on October 4, including adding the quote. The claim in the Hughes article's lead that he's best known for Off the Air is not supported (or even mentioned) in the body of the article—not even how long the show has run—and if that's what he's known for, it really needs to be. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:33, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
- BlueMoonset, @TonyTheTiger: Alright, I've incorporated the suggestions for the Hughes article. Sorry for being stubborn about it; it's a bit choppy at the moment, but I plan to bring it to good article status soon. 23W (talk · stalk · pend) 22:24, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
