Ntema Ndungidi
[edit]... that Ntema Ndungidi is the first African-born baseball player to play for a Major League Baseball organization?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Orthokine
- Comment: Might saying "Major League Baseball organization" appear to imply he played in Major League Baseball? He played for minor league baseball teams affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles of MLB. If it seems misleading, please rewrite.

- There is a problem with the hook. While it seems to be backed up by the New York Times claim that he was "the first African-born player in a major league organization" and the Sarasota Herald Tribune - "believed to be the first African" - doing some searching, there appears to have been an antecedent. Mark Miller, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, spent time in the late 70s in the Cincinnati Reds organisation.[1][2]. Maybe the hook can be reworked because otherwise the article looks good to go. ... that Ntema Ndungidi is the second African-born baseball player to play for a Major League Baseball organization?
- It gets more interesting - Al Cabrera born in the Canary Islands (a Spanish territory part of the African continent) played a single Major League game for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1913.[3] Hack (talk) 16:51, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- ... that in 1997 Zaire-born baseball player Ntema Ndungidi became the highest ranked Major League Baseball draftee from Quebec?
Article updated - someone else will need to approve my suggested hook. Hack (talk) 05:54, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
