Nina Jankowicz
... that Nina Jankowicz has an interest in musical theatre?Source: Yaffa, Joshua (2020-09-03). "Is Russian Meddling as Dangerous as We Think?". The New Yorker. Retrieved 2022-04-27.
Created by JPxG (talk) and Innisfree987 (talk). Nominated by JPxG (talk) at 18:29, 8 May 2022 (UTC).
- Per WP:DYK lead, DYK "is not a general trivia section." I find this nomination to be trivia and unsuitable for Main Page inclusion. soibangla (talk) 23:15, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The hook is not interesting to those who know her, and misleading to those who don't. What would you say to introduce her? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:33, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, I will just say it: the hook sucks. I would try to write a better one, but I am not quite sure how. I am certainly open to anyone else who wants to give it a shot! jp×g 01:58, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- Usually, the nominator provides a hook. If I do it, we'll need someone else for the review, so better not. I'd find anything in the lead more informative than some unspecific interest in musical theatre which she shares with millions. Something about her, something you could not say about anybody else, would be to my liking. And add the image! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:55, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe ALT1
... that Nina Jankowicz, the first executive director of the United States Disinformation Governance Board, has an interest in musical theatre?I note that the article doesn't directly state that she was the first, merely that she was appointed head of a newly-established organization, so if ALT1 is to be used the article probably needs to be reworded. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 04:53, 16 May 2022 (UTC)- That's better, but I still don't see why the strong and unique Disinformation Governance Board shouldn't stay alone, but kind of weakened by some commonplace interest. If it was newly created, she was first, without rewording. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:15, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

- This DYK needs a new hook or should be withdrawn, since she just resigned. Cielquiparle (talk) 21:35, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- Would a hook about her resignation and the board's shutdown work or would that violate BLP? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:20, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Per WP:DYKCRIT:
A nominated article must be new (when nominated). For DYK purposes, a "new" article is no more than seven days old
. Nina Jankowicz was created on April 29[1] and this nomination was made nine days later, on May 8. The article was ineligible for DYK when nominated. soibangla (talk) 12:46, 21 May 2022 (UTC) - Marking for closure per Soibangla's comment. For what it's worth, I checked to see if it would have been eligible as a 5x expansion but that does not appear to be the case. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:51, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- I have no problem with two days late. We just need a new hook, - at least making the fact past tense. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:41, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if this would count as a BLP violation or not, but if it isn't, then perhaps:
- ALT2 ... that in a tweet, Nina Jankowicz asked to be called "the Mary Poppins of disinformation"? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:00, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Relying on Gerda's original review, I'll tick ALT2 as cited and interesting. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/they) 04:57, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Rewriting ALT2 as ALT2a: ... that Nina Jankowicz dubbed herself "the Mary Poppins of disinformation"?
- that one also approved, and preferred, striking some others --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:12, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
