Negro Hollow
[edit]- ... that although the watershed of Negro Hollow (map pictured) has an area of only 1.57 square miles (4.1 km2), it occupies four townships?

- I don't think I've ever met someone who likes rivers this much. Mostly the same comments as the others; Can Biology be Ecology, Can we move the road information, how about an ALT for people with less interest in rivers, is there a map?
- So suggested alt - ALT1: ... that Negro Hollow starts at Bear Head mountain? - because I think that's pretty catchy. Also love the mountain name. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 15:16, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- I was more thinking in the article than in the DYK hook - thank you though, it really helps with reading comprehension. Now as I can't approve my own suggestion, let's jump up and down a lot and go pay attention to me it's been over a month PanydThe muffin is not subtle 19:19, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, I took a look and the page looks good. However, I'm unable to access the map in Footnote 2; Footnote 6 is a dead link; and Footnote 5 says that the stream starts on the slope of Locust Mountain. Do you want to say anything about the reason for the name? This source says Negro Hollow is the name of a valley in Clearfield County, Penn. I'm also wondering if you saw these sources: [1] and [2], which give different lengths for the streams you are writing about. Best, Yoninah (talk) 23:44, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: The map works fine for me. Part of topozone.com went down recently for some reason, but I've added an archiveurl. There are multiple streams named Negro Hollow. Your sources refer to different streams (except for the last one, but anyway I prefer to user The National Map for stream lengths). It doesn't particularly matter anyway; I was thinking of merging this nomination with Template:Did you know nominations/Messers Run. --Jakob (talk) 23:56, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- OK. Be sure to put the double hook fact in Negro Hollow, too. Yoninah (talk) 00:00, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Done. I merged this nomination with Template:Did you know nominations/Messers Run. --Jakob (talk) 00:44, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
