Narmada Seva Yatra

  • Welcome to DYK! Your article is new enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. No QPQ needed for first-time nominator. However, the sentence in the article 15,000 people have participated in the yatra so far is not found in the source, which talks about the number of participants expected in the future: About 15,000 people will take part in the yatra. Do you have a source that confirms that number after the fact? Also, since Wikipedia is timeless, say "As of April 2017", or whatever date, rather than "so far".
  • Regarding the hook, calling the campaign by its Indian name makes it very inaccessible to most readers, and reduces the likelihood that they'll click on it. Also, repeating "Narmada" when I still don't know what it is, is very confusing. I suggest you pipe the link instead (see below). Also, while you explain what's going on (a pilgrimage covering so many kilometres) in the article, it's not clear what you're talking about in the hook. I suggest something like:
  • ALT1: ... that a campaign to conserve the Narmada River centers around a yatra that extends 2,930 kilometres (1,820 mi) and involves 15,000 people? Yoninah (talk) 15:39, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Not the nom or article creator, but came across the article and fixed tenses, and also saw this comment and fixed the no. of participants. The only ref I could find gave the number of participants who had registered before the start of the program. Maybe since the event was just completed, the numbers aren't compiled yet. I agree with the suggestion for ALT hook but with changes in tense.
  • ALT2: ... that a campaign to conserve the Narmada River centers around a yatra that extended 2,930 kilometres (1,820 mi) and involved over 11,000 people? Regstuff (talk) 10:01, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Thank you, Regstuff, for your help. Looking at the source again, I think the number of people that the campaign has reached is far more hooky than how many signed up. I'd like to suggest ALT3:
ALT3: ... that a campaign to conserve the Narmada River centering around a 2,930-kilometre (1,820 mi) yatra has reached more than 30 million people? Yoninah (talk) 13:59, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
  • New reviewer needed to check the hooks and the sourcing issues about the participant numbers. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:46, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
  • I find ALT3 supported by reference 3 for the participant count to 3 crore people which is 30 million as well as for length of 2930 Kms. This is good to go! - Vivvt (Talk) 07:24, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
