Death of Victoria Martens
[edit]... that the murder of Victoria Martens was described by the chief of the Albuquerque Police Department as "the most gruesome act of evil"?- ALT1:
... that Victoria Martens was murdered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by her own mother?
- ALT1:
Created by WereWolf (talk). Self-nominated at 15:49, 9 July 2017 (UTC).
- Comment: striking ALT1 as a violation of WP:BLP, since the mother has not been convicted of the murder. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:01, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
- Oh ok! Sorry WereWolf (talk) 21:11, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset: I was going to review this article but I am uneasy about it. The first sentence states "On August 24, 2016, ten-year-old Victoria Martens was killed by three people, including her mother, in Albuquerque, New Mexico." Does Wikipedia have a policy about this sort of article where a crime appears to have been committed and suspects charged, but they have not yet been convicted? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:02, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- Cwmhiraeth, the policy is WP:BLPCRIME, which makes sentences like that a definite problem. Your review should certainly take it into account, and the article should probably be tagged (no idea what the template would be, though). BlueMoonset (talk) 14:02, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

- This article is new enough and long enough. I have edited the opening sentence of the article that I mentioned above, and I now think the article is neutral. The hook facts have an inline citation and I detected no copyright issues. I do not believe a QPQ review is necessary. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:03, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- I have pulled this hook following complaints on WT:DYK and WP:BLPN. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:14, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, please submit one or more alternative hooks. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:20, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
ALT2 ...that officers from the Albuquerque Police Department "did lie" to the Albuquerque Journal with details regarding the murder of Victoria Martens?

- Comment the article title has changed to Death of Victoria Martens I am resubmitting the previous three hooks with the new title name.
- ALT2 ... that officers from the Albuquerque Police Department lied to the Albuquerque Journal when providing details regarding the death of Victoria Martens?
ALT3 ...that the death of Victoria Martens occurred one year ago this month in Albuquerque, New Mexico?WereWolf (talk) 18:17, 5 August 2017 (UTC)ALT4 ...that Susana Martinez, the Governor of New Mexico, called for a federal investigation into the death of Victoria Martens?WereWolf (talk) 18:21, 5 August 2017 (UTC)- Resurrecting this nomination which appears to have got lost in the system. Striking some of the hooks and approving the second ALT2. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:17, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
