- ... that Muhammad Sadiq's photographs (example pictured) were the first ever taken of the Islamic holy sites in Mecca and Medina? "Sadiq Bey was the first person ever, Arab or foreign, to photograph the populace, pilgrims, officials and holy sites of Mecca and Medina" "The Arab Imago: A Social History of Portrait Photography, 1860–1910"

Overall: Article is new, sourced and long enough. Very interesting hook which is cited, and no copyvio. The picture is free and used in the article, but I'm not sure it looks good at 100px. (The other images in the article have the same problem, which is fair because they're like 150 yrs old). I'll leave it up to the promoter whether this is promoted with or without a photo. - Thanks for an amazingly rapid review. I've cropped the image and turned up the contrast a bit: maybe this is more suitable? MartinPoulter (talk) 18:55, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @MartinPoulter: thanks for adjusting the image! That's a lot better I think. There's usually more hooks with photos than photo slots though, so it might not get included anyway. BuySomeApples (talk) 00:53, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
