Morley Cowles Ballantine

[edit]
  • ... that Arthur and Morley Cowles Ballantine, co-publishers of The Durango Herald, sometimes wrote opposing editorials, as when he endorsed Nixon and she endorsed Humphrey for president in 1968? Source: "They worked at desks situated at right angles, and occasionally the paper to run two editorials representing their diverse viewpoints. One memorable example came in 1968, when he endorsed Richard Nixon, and she came out for Hubert Humphrey." (The Durango Herald)

  • New enough, long enough, meets all other policy guidelines. Citations after almost every sentence. Hook is on the long side, but within just within 200 characters and I think it flows well and is properly sourced. (Did not consider ALT1; I don't think Graham has nearly the name recognition of Humphrey/Nixon and is therefore an inferior hook.) MB 23:31, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
