Mike McCormick (pitcher)
[edit]- ... that Mike McCormick was the first San Francisco Giants pitcher to win the Cy Young Award?
- ALT1:... that San Francisco Giants pitcher Mike McCormick defeated all other National League teams during his Cy Young Award-winning season in 1967?
- ALT2:... that Mike McCormick personalized his license plate with "Mr. 500" to commemorate the fact that he hit the 500th home run by a Major League Baseball pitcher and gave up Hank Aaron's 500th home run?

- Comment: Per this discussion, BLP's with only external links and no references are considered unsourced. I prefer ALT2, though any of the 3 hooks will do.

- confirmed 2x expansion from previously unreferenced BLP. All three hooks verified. Article is interesting and informative. He's also the first NL pitcher to win the Cy Young after they started awarding it to the best pitcher in each league, but that's too lengthy for a hook. Mackensen (talk) 12:34, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
