Media coverage of 2019 India–Pakistan standoff
[edit]- ... that once the recent India-Pakistan standoff started de-escalating, the media coverage shifted to deciding who won the perception war? Source: India-Pakistan tensions: Who won the war of perceptions? (Al Jazeera, Indian author) Narendra Modi v Imran Khan: Who won the war of perception?(BBC) India and Pakistan engage in perception war (The Strait Times)
- ALT1:... that fake videos and misinformation caused further escalation between India and Pakistan during the recent standoff? Source: Social media fake news fans tension between India and Pakistan (Reuters) Fake news & misinformation on Indo-Pak tension flood the social media (The Economic Times)
- ALT2:... that war-mongering and misinformation spread by the media may have resulted in a paradoxical de-escalation of the recent India-Pakistan standoff. Indian media trumpeting about Pakistani fake news should look in the mirror first (Quartz India)
- QPQ: Barry Sage
Created by DiplomatTesterMan (talk). Self-nominated at 23:18, 16 March 2019 (UTC), co-nom by DBigXrayᗙ 12:40, 22 March 2019 (UTC) .
- I would like to withdraw this DYK nom due to lack of time in following it up as well as lack of time for a QPQ. Further the article may need to be merged into 2019 India–Pakistan standoff. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 09:12, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
- Since, DiplomatTesterMan is on a wikibreak, I will be taking this DYK forward. The article is notable and is a valid WP:CFORK per WP:SIZERULE. DBigXrayᗙ 12:40, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
- added Barry Sage as my QPQ. DBigXrayᗙ 09:48, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
- Full review needed, since the nomination is continuing rather than being withdrawn. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:04, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Full review still needed; it's been over two weeks with no review posted. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:28, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
- This is a poorly written article on one of the most volatile areas in the encyclopedia. I remain inclined to work on this article and get rid of the UNDUE stuff. ∯WBGconverse 13:09, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Winged Blades of Godric: Any updates?
- The article seems to have neutrality issues from what I can tell, and has not been worked on at all since being nominated for DYK. WBG had offered to work on the nomination but has been unable to respond despite a ping. Considering the issues, this nomination is now being marked for closure.
