Measles resurgence in the United States

[edit]
Boy with measles
Boy with measles
  • ... that a man who believed he was immune to measles after having it as a child infected 38 people in Michigan in 2019?" "a man on a trip from New York who was unknowingly infected with the measles, and after traveling to Michigan, spread the virus to 38 other people there."[1] "the man [...] believed that he was immune from the disease because he said he had it when it was younger"[2]
    • ALT1: ... that although measles was declared eradicated in 2000, more than 500 people have been diagnosed so far in 2019 due to anti-vaccination myths that have been proven false? "In 2000, the United States achieved a historic public health goal: the elimination of measles" "55 cases of measles in 20 states had already been confirmed from January 1 through April 11, 2019"[3] or [4]
    • ALT2: ... that before vaccination against measles was widespread in the United States, 400-500 people died each year from the disease? "Before the vaccine became widely available, an estimated 400 to 500 people died each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."[5]

  • Will review...good layout of article, new enough, hooks need formatting, will complete in day or 2. Whispyhistory (talk) 08:23, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
I've tried to do the formatting as described in the instructions. Please let me know if there's something else I'm missing.
I don't see any other articles on the resurgence of measles in the US, so a disambiguation wouldn't be necessary.
Per MOS:BOLDAVOID, the first sentence of the article doesn't need to include the title in bold. Natureium (talk) 14:13, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks, no copy issues, reads well, well sourced...Just check last sentence in section of New York. Does that sentence need an update? Whispyhistory (talk) 15:35, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
  • FYI, 2019 has now surpassed the previous record for the number of measles cases reported since the disease was declared eradicated in 2000. This could possibly be worked in somehow if someone finds this particularly interesting. Natureium (talk) 17:33, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
