Max Hunter
- ... that to convince people to let him record their singing, Ozarker folklorist Max Hunter helped them out with chores, including delivering moonshine? Source: "To get people to cooperate, he would help them with the chores, loading hay, tending chickens, feeding calves. "He even delivered stump water," Mrs. Hunter said cheerfully. Stump water? "White lightning. We're talking about moonshine, the kind that would take the top of your head off.""[1]
- ALT1:... that Ozarker folklorist Max Hunter refused to bequeath his archive of folk song recordings to an academic institution, where he feared they would get buried, so he gave them to his local library instead? Source: [2]
- Reviewed: This is my third DYK nom and I've reviewed two, so I haven't used up my five freebies yet. My second review was Template:Did you know nominations/San Nicolò all'Arena, Verona.
- Comment: I couldn't figure out precisely what the most widely used demonym is for someone from the Ozarks. Hunter himself strongly preferred "Ozarker" over "Ozarkian", so I'm going with that.

- Not sure if this fulfills the new enough criteria. The article history states that it was moved over from draft space on July 2, but I don't see any difference between it and the last version ([3]) before the move. Perhaps I'm missing something; I'm not familiar with how moving goes, so please explain if so, and I'll continue the review. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 03:35, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

I nominated it as soon as it was moved. Thank you in advance for conducting the review! {{u|Sdkb}} talk 04:03, 27 July 2020 (UTC)- Ok, thanks, your answer is satisfactory to me. I'll continue the review, then. ;)

- Long enough, at 2203 characters. Within policy, QPQ not needed. Both hooks are fine, although I prefer the first 'cause it's more fun and mentions moonshine. ;) Nice job, good to go. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:00, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
