Maria Magnani Noya
[edit]- ... that Maria Magnani Noya was the first female mayor of Turin and the second ever female mayor in Italy?
- "Magnani Noya was the first woman elected mayor of Turin"
- "Torino sarà, dopo Palermo, la seconda grande città italiana ad avere un sindaco donna." Roughly translates to: "Turin will be, after Palermo, the second big/major Italian city to have a female mayor"
- ALT1:... that during the 1990 FIFA World Cup, Turin mayor Maria Magnani Noya asked FIFA to swap the locations of the two semi-final matches in fear of English fans after the Heysel Stadium Disaster? Source: Turin's mayor, Maria Magnani Noya, was concerned enough that she appealed through the media to FIFA, soccer's world governing body, and the Italia '90 organizing committee to change the tournament draw so that the English would play their semifinal game against the West Germans in Naples.

- Comment: Any preference towards ALT0 or ALT1

- Article meets DYK article requirements and is free from close paraphrasing. ALT1 is okay but I prefer ALT0; due to there currently being objections to frequent "first" hooks, I will not object to ALT1 being promoted instead; both meet requirements. I am assuming good faith for the Italian sources. Right now, there's an unsourced paragraph in the article (about her successor as mayor of Turin), and the "Later Life and Death" section header is improperly capitalized.
