Manuel Kamytzes
- ... that the Byzantine general Manuel Kamytzes began a rebellion against his emperor when the latter took advantage of his capture to confiscate his fortune, imprison his family, and refuse to ransom him? Source: Quoted verbatim from the primary source in the article itself.

- This article is a five-fold expansion and now a GA, and is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I'm having trouble finding the hook facts in the article, and each hook fact (refusal to ransom him, imprisonment of family, confiscation of fortune) needs an inline cite per Cited hook #3b. Yoninah (talk) 21:01, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Yoninah, it's at the very beginning of the 'Imprisonment and rebellion' section, where Choniates is quoted: "the emperor, as his actions demonstrated, reckoned the protostrator's capture a godsend, a delightful and excellent piece of good luck. Making a diligent search of all his assets, he laid his hands on the man's immense riches that befitted a monarch; he also sentenced his wife and son to prison, on what grounds I know not." This is cited directly after in the article Constantine ✍ 21:07, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
