Manshuk Mametova
[edit]- ... that Manshuk Mametova was the first Kazakh woman to become a Hero of the Soviet Union, after she refused to retreat from battle in Nevel, despite the rest of her regiment retreating? Sources: Sakaida, Henry (2012). Heroines of the Soviet Union 1941–45. Bloomsbury Publishing. p. 28. "Kazakh hero Manshuk Mametova". e-history.kz. Retrieved 2018-02-05.
5x expanded by PlanespotterA320 (talk). Self-nominated at 19:02, 10 April 2018 (UTC).
- REVIEW:
- ARTICLE: New enough (expansion began as April 10, 2018, the day it was nominated.) Long enough. My first check suggested it had not achieved a 5x expansion, but using this tool and just copying the lead and the text body, I get a size of 943 before April 10, 2018 and 4,866 now, which is just over 943x5=4,715. Information is factually given, meets neutrality requirement. All paragraphs are sourced, however, for information in some paragraphs, I have assumed good faith use of Russian-language sources. (E.g. her aunt Amina Mametova is not mentioned in the cited English sources.) It would be better if sentences or facts within paragraphs were individually cited, rather than the entire paragraph. The only matches to text appear to be mirrors of the Wikipedia article, so copyvios don't seem to be an issue.
- QPQ: According to the QPQ checker @PlanespotterA320: has 0 DYK's so far and so isn't required to do a QPQ. They did attempt one, though it doesn't seem to have been a full review. I am accepting in good faith that the QPQ checker is working correctly, and they are not required to do more. (I will note that QPQ's numbers are totally wrong for me.)
- HOOK: Content of the hook seems acceptable. "was the first Kazakh woman to become a Hero of the Soviet Union," is stated, cited, and sourced (page 27). "after she refused to retreat from battle in Nevel, despite the rest of her regiment retreating?" needs to be sourced to meet DYK requirements. The information is in the paragraph, and the paragraph is sourced, but the individual sentences that contain the information are not sourced. Each sentence with part of the information for the hook needs to be individually cited with a specific source. Once this is corrected, the DYK should be able to go ahead. - @PlanespotterA320: It has been several weeks since Mary's comments, have you been able to address her concerns? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 14:24, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: The other source (for her last stand) is http://e-history.kz/en/project/view/4?type=publications&material_id=962.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 13:01, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, but the request was to add a footnote to the "On 15 October 1943, Mametova did not retreat from a strategic hill with the rest of her unit..." part. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:15, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- Requirement is now met. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 01:17, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
