5x expanded by Bloom6132 (talk). Self-nominated at 04:47, 6 May 2017 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I prefer the original hook (ALT0) with picture.  —አቤል ዳዊት?(Janweh64) (talk) 08:25, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the 5x expansion is not clear. Before expansion began, the character count was 3045, including both Icelandic and English versions of the anthem (both unsourced). Today the character count is just over 4400 characters, with only the Icelandic version of the anthem (unsourced). Yoninah (talk) 13:43, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: How on earth did you get 3,045 characters? Using this script (javascript:importScript('User:Dr pda/prosesize.js'); getDocumentSize();) which according to DYKSG A3 "carries the most weight at DYK, because it counts only the prose as defined by Did You Know rules", the article was at 463 characters. Please check again. —Bloom6132 (talk) 14:52, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Regarding the lyrics, I've deleted that section now to address your concern of it being "unsourced". —Bloom6132 (talk) 15:01, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: I'm not asking you to IAR and ignore the lyrics. I'm asking that the correct script (which I already posted above) be used to calculate it. I used the version before expansion that you cited above. It still gives me "Prose size (text only): 463 B (79 words) "readable prose size"". —Bloom6132 (talk) 16:42, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • @Bloom6132: OK, I see where the script is telling you that it counts only the first paragraph of the April 15 revision in the word count. But that doesn't make sense to me. Per WP:DYK#Eligibility criteria 1. c., the lyrics are not part of "Prose character count excludes wiki markup, templates, lists, tables, and references". Calling on @BlueMoonset: for enlightenment here. Yoninah (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Yoninah, I think there are a couple of points here. First, lyrics aren't prose generally. Then, since these were quoted lyrics (in both original and translation), they should have been blockquoted and not counted toward the total size; when there are formatting issues that cause DYKcheck or other prose checkers (such as prosesize.js) to think something is prose when it isn't, we adjust the totals to eliminate the mistakenly counted non-prose. • Thanks BlueMoonset! @Yoninah:, can you please restore the tick proceed with promotion? —Bloom6132 (talk) 05:53, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Replacing tick as per Janweh64's review. Article before expansion was 463 characters readable prose size and is plenty long enough now for the five-fold expansion (3122). Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:31, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
