• ... that Leasowe Lighthouse (pictured) had the only known female lighthouse keeper of its period?
  • The ref is [1] which says The lighthouse was operational until 14 July 1908, with the only known female lighthouse keeper in those days, a Mrs. Williams , also this ref [2] says The lighthouse was operational until 14 July 1908, with the only known female lighthouse keeper in those days, a Mrs. Williams.
  • ALT1:... that Leasowe Lighthouse (pictured) had the only known female lighthouse keeper when it ceased operating in 1908?
  • ALT2:... that in 1908 when it ceased operations, Leasowe Lighthouse (pictured) had the only known female lighthouse keeper?
  • ALT3:... that when it ceased operating Leasowe Lighthouse (pictured) had a female lighthouse keeper?
  • ALT4:... that in 1908 Leasowe Lighthouse (pictured) had the only known female lighthouse keeper?
• I'd like the pic to be considered. This was a redirect from 2006.

• I confess that's not my favourite source, and I wonder whether you could give a bit more of a reference to the "period" referred to in the hook? Josh Milburn (talk) 09:25, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

• I think this is a better ref? [3] it says In the 1890s, the Williamses, a husband and wife, moved from the Great Orme Lighthouse in Llandudno, and Mr. Williams was appointed the lightkeeper of Leasowe. After he became ill, his wife assumed his duties. After her husband’s death, the owners of the lighthouse, Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, appointed her the official lighthouse keeper. At the time, she was Britain’s only female lighthouse keeper. This ref [4] says The lighthouse was operational until 14 July 1908, with the only known female lighthouse keeper in those days, a Mrs. Williams.
