Leaskdale Manse
... that Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of the Anne of Green Gables series, wrote 11 of her 22 published works in the Leaskdale Manse (pictured)?Canadian Register of Historic Places: "Leaskdale Manse was designated a national historic site in 1994 because it was the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery in a productive period of her literary career when she wrote 11 of the 22 works published during her lifetime"
- Reviewed: Judy Sullivan
- Comment: I would like this to run for Lucy Maud Montgomery's birthday on November 30th.
I wish I could use a picture of the house for the hook but none of them are very good :((see below)

- Drive-by comment: This hook seems to be asking for an image of the house, not the author. Anyway, the author and her work are famous enough to catch the reader's eye. Yoninah (talk) 17:39, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I thought an image hook would be nice for the special occasion but none of the pictures of the house are very good. I'll remove the image. SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 17:43, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- @SpicyMilkBoy: Really? I disagree. The infobox image has plenty of sun in it. Yoninah (talk) 18:22, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- I wasn't a fan of it because half of the image is taken up by the fence and part of the house is hidden behind trees, but I'll add the picture and let whoever promotes the hook decide. :) SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 18:36, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

QPQ: Done. |
Overall: Article moved to mainspace on October 23 and nominated the same day. Length and sourcing are adequate. Tone is neutral, and not plagiarism detected. Hook is properly cited inline, and is interesting to a broad audience. The photo of the house is clear at 100px, properly licensed and used in the article. QPQ requirements have been met. Special occasion request for Montgomery's birthday on November 30 is appropriate and adequte notice given. Flibirigit (talk) 00:32, 6 November 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I noticed that the hook and article are misquoting the source. She wrote 11 of the 22 works published in her lifetime in this house. I edited the article accordingly, but I think adding this phrase is going to weigh down the hook.
- Here's another suggestion:
- ALT1: ... that Rainbow Valley, one of the books in the Anne of Green Gables series, draws heavily on Lucy Maud Montgomery's life in the Leaskdale Manse (pictured)? Yoninah (talk) 11:44, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Yoninah, that hook sounds good to me. SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 17:16, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. We need a review of ALT1. Pinging @Flibirigit:. Yoninah (talk) 18:51, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
ALT1 is properly mentioned and cited in the article, and is reasonable interesting. Rest of review as per above. Flibirigit (talk) 17:06, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
