Lascaris Battery
[edit]... that Lascaris Battery in Valletta, Malta, was used by the British?
Created by Dr. Blofeld (talk), Yngvadottir (talk), Rosiestep (talk), and Nvvchar (talk). Nominated by Dr. Blofeld (talk) at 19:41, 22 February 2013 (UTC).
- References, article length, neutrality, and age is fine; however, the hook needs to be finished. Please add something interesting to it, I saw many "hooky" details in the second paragraph of the History section. Link from the Void (talk) 21:18, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, Thanks for the suggestion. How about this
ALT1 Hook with an img ... that Lascaris Battery (pictured), an artillery battery in Malta built during 1854 was the headquarters of the British War Rooms, during the War, which was a well kept secret?--Nvvchar. 07:39, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- ALT1 Hook is good to go!Link from the Void (talk) 15:03, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- With all due respect the anonymous approver, I think ALT1 is a run-on sentence that doesn't quite make sense as written. Can we please have another hook proposal, or a clearer revision of ALT1? If you're referring to World War II, please don't obscure the fact with a piped link, especially if 1854—about 90 years earlier—is in the mix. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:00, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- I am not sure if I can propose/edit hooks, but I would approve the hook if it looked more like this:
"that Lascaris Battery (pictured), an artillery battery in Malta built during 1854 was the secret headquarters of the British War Rooms, during World War II?" Furthermore, I apologize for not signing my previous post.Link from the Void (talk) 15:03, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- Revised hook is fine. It is repeated hers as ALT2 Hook

- Need an independent reviewer to check ALT2 hook (reposted below, so it's easy to see, and with one comma moved to a better position, one space added, and a non-breaking space placed). Since Link from the Void proposed it, someone else has to do the review. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:02, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that Lascaris Battery (pictured), an artillery battery in Malta built during 1854, was the secret headquarters of the British War Rooms during World War II?
- Article is new enough and long enough. The image is appropriately licensed and the ALT2 hook sourced, and this hook is much more interesting than the original one. I have struck out the other hooks. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:36, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
