Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act 1870
[edit]... that according to J. C. Beckett, the Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act 1870 "failed, at almost every point, to achieve the purpose for which it was intended"?
Created by Britannicus (talk). Nominated by Tentinator (talk) at 21:50, 14 December 2013 (UTC).
- Partial review. New enough and long enough. I've not checked for copyvio issues and I've not tried to verify the hook fact, but I have a couple of comments to offer:
- The usual standard name for the law is Landlord and Tenant (Ireland) Act 1870, but that makes very awkward wording for a DYK. Can a descriptive term be employed in the hook instead (for example, Landlord and Tenant Act for Ireland enacted in 1870)?
- The section entitled "Act" needs reference citations and an introductory sentence or two to explain what the three enumerated items are. (This appears to be a description of the main provisions of the act -- say that this is what they are, and identify the sources for the description.) --Orlady (talk) 19:18, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

- and I've added a reference for the Act section. Tentinator 12:20, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ref citation. I can AGF on the hook fact (I've seen part of the quote in Google snippets) and an absence of copyvio. However, the "Act" section still needs work. It's obvious that the section is someone's description of the Act, so the original text of the Act is not a sufficient reference citation. Also, there needs to be an introductory sentence before the 3 enumerated points. --Orlady (talk) 15:23, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
- Have pinged Tentinator, as this seems to have been overlooked. Nevertheless, the issues Orlady raised remain unaddressed, and the nomination cannot be approved in its current state. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:30, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
- Note: if the template was deliberately removed in that edit Sagaciousphil noted, it should not have been: nominated articles should not be made to disappear, but withdrawn by announcing that fact on the nomination template, after which it is closed in the normal fashion. - I couldn't tell, and figured it couldn't hurt to mention it in case the process wasn't clear. It looks like Tentinator may be taking a little break; I hope everything's okay and a return happens soon. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:41, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
