Kris Johnson (basketball)

[edit]

5x expanded by Bagumba (talk). Self nom at 03:13, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Nom'd 2 days after moving it from a redirect, length adds up. Either hook would be fine but i think ALT1 adds more intrugue. Sources are good, ut just need the 2 unsourced notes to have a citation and to de-capitalise the sources that in all-caps. And can a source be added to the 2nd paragraph of the lead (for which the ALT is taken from?)
"a play on Charles Barkley's nickname" could mention what Barkley's nickname is.Lihaas (talk) 05:33, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Added sources, decapitalized ref titles, added Barlkley's nickname as requested. Regarding sourcing the lead, I'd prefer not to per WP:LEADCITE. The information is repeated in the body and cited there. I'll add to the lead if you insist for the DYK.—Bagumba (talk) 05:53, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
I understand the LEADCITE, but for DY the hook needs a cite though ;) Otherwise all set...and ouve waited awhile to get this on DYKLihaas (talk) 05:59, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • What I meant is that the hook could be considered to be from the body (where it is cited) and not the lead. In any event, I've added the refs to the lead as requested. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 06:09, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- Also would it be better to just list the word NCAA instead of spelling out [different]ly] the 4 words for the college champs? Lihaas (talk) 06:28, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I have a peave about abbreviations I am unfamiliar with when I read DYKs from other countries, so in kind I try to stay away from them and use laymen's terms when possible. I assume this is not a condition for approval since you checked off already.—Bagumba (talk) 07:07, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
