HNLMS Koningin Regentes, HNLMS De Ruyter (1901)

[edit]

Konigin Regentes

  • ... that the Dutch warship Koningin Regentes (pictured), her sister ship De Ruyter and the protected cruiser Zeeland bombarded the city of Denpasar on 16 and 17 September 1906?

  • I suspect you need to do two QPQs. However articles are new and big enough. There are referenced, but they excessively use scheepvaartmuseum.nl :: Maritieme kalender. I would expect there to be newspaper articles too. Any way hook is referenced and confirmed. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:44, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Another, just as important, point is that both articles are in dire need of a copy-edit, probably by a native English speaker. Right now the language isn't good enough for Main page exposure. Manxruler (talk) 06:51, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Further, it seems that the nominator only has two DYK credits, so they actually don't need to do QPQ (only those of us with five or more credits have to do that). The language is the key issue for this nom. I see that the nominator hasn't been notified of the issues with their nomination, so I'll go do that. Manxruler (talk) 07:04, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Thx for the review. How do you suggest we proceed concerning the language issues? I don’t think my knowledge of English is sufficient enough to improve the text further.Pindanl (talk) 16:39, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Request made Pindanl (talk) 17:14, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Very good. Then we'll await the results of that. Manxruler (talk) 18:26, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Oh, and I see that both articles have been tagging for having incomplete leads. If you could fix that, that would be really nice. Manxruler (talk) 18:35, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
  • I have struck my QPQ comment, since I ave seen Pindanl around I had the false idea that it was at DYK. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:41, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Leads expanded. Pindanl (talk) 22:26, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Well, Graeme, we're required to check whether the nominator needs to do QPQs.
  • Anyway, Pindanl, the the leads seem sufficient now. Then we're just waiting for a copy editor to have a look before we proceed.
  • In the meantime, the articles are new enough and long enough, they're neutral and cite sources (although Graeme has a good point regarding over-reliance on hetscheepvaartmuseum, you've got two sources so that's sufficient for DYK). What I'd like to see is more detailed references, preferably using Template:Cite web, but it won't fail without that improvement. AGF on the Dutch sources. Hook is within requirements length-wise (I took the liberty of fixing a slight grammar issue), interesting, cited and neutral. Image is free, used in the article and shows a nice-looking warship. Once the copy-edit is done, we're good to go. Manxruler (talk) 07:14, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
  • I have copyedited the two articles, so now I need an independent person to check it is up to scratch. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:02, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
  • It's sufficient. Good to go. Manxruler (talk) 17:30, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
  • I don’t think this makes any difference but Het Scheepvaartmuseum (The Maritime Museum) gives the source for every shard of text they have on their Maritieme kalender (marine calendar). Although I have no access to them, the information on the site does come from different sources. I will not do anything on the ref stile if it is not necessary. Anyway thx for the help Graeme Bartlett and Manxruler. Pindanl (talk) 17:54, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
