Insufficient expansion, closed as per nominator request
Khorovats
[edit]- ... that Khorovats (pictured) is the most representative dish of Armenian cuisine?

- Article is big enough, new enough as it expanded from a redirect, and is neutral enough. I am going to check a content duplication with Armenian cuisine. text does look to have been copied without credit. Otherwise no other infringement found yet. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:20, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Good catch. The second sentence of the intro (after "It is") is word-for-word, as are two paragraphs in "Description": the first (with an added "made of") and third paragraphs, the latter entirely so from "In Armenia itself" through "chicken is also popular". By my count, that's a total of 899 characters out of a 2048 character article. Not only can the copied text not count toward the 1500 prose character minimum, but copied text is subject to the 5x expansion rule. According to WP:DYKSG#Supplementary article length rules, rule A5: "If some of the text was copied from another Wikipedia article, then it must be expanded fivefold as if the copied text had been a separate article." That would mean this article needs to be five times 899, or 4495 characters. It therefore needs another 2447 characters to qualify for DYK, or to more than double its current length. - Alright! I didn't know about that rule. I'll try to expand it as much as I can, but I don't think I can find that much information. Any suggestion what else to write about? I kind of ran out of ideas haha --Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 02:41, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- Since I didn't know about khorovats before I read the article, I'm the wrong person to ask what else to write about. It may be that there just isn't enough information out there to make a long enough article to qualify for DYK. It happens, sometimes. Not every nomination can meet the criteria. - Well, then this nomination can be deleted! --Երևանցի ասելիք կա՞ 03:37, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, Yerevanci. Sorry this didn't work out. Article does not qualify for DYK's 5x expansion rule, since 899 characters are copied from another Wikipedia article. Closing nomination per author. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:43, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
