Length, newness check out fine. Well sourced except for the last line on the page that has a tag. Hook is sourced but maybe a bit long. Its currently pertinent and should go up soon as its a news story that wont be ITN. So if the nom can review something then were all set to pass this.Lihaas (talk) 03:26, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- We have a source (Ali Abunimah/Al Jazeera English) but it was removed because one editor did not consider it reliable, which I disagree with. Anyway, if it's not fixed by tomorrow, I'll just remove it so the nomination goes through. As for hook length, what if I replace "undertaking" with "on"? I'll review a nomination right now. Thanks for the review. --Al Ameer son (talk) 04:34, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- al Jazeera is a RS and its been discussed at RSN before so theres no reason to keep it out. He needs to discuss that or its vandalism on his part/censorship even.
- The hook is not technically bad, i just think something shorter and more catchy should be more appealing to readers.
- With the review note we should be set to post (and the ref)
- Thanks for the pass and helping out with the article. As for the hook, do you have any suggestions? --Al Ameer son (talk) 17:29, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- There are still serious POV issues as evidenced on the talk page. As a partisan individual on this subject, Lihaas also should not be reviewing or approving this DYK. Thirdly, using a Carlos Latuff cartoon as the image is clearly POV. Plot Spoiler (talk) 19:02, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- User:Plot Spoiler is correct. Per H2, User:Lihaas can't tick this DYK submission; someone not involved in the topic area needs to do it. I'm also inclined to agree there's a serious issue with the Latuff cartoon being used in the article given that the subject is still living and representing him with a political cartoon by a controversial artist is inviting all sorts of BLP-related complications.—Biosketch (talk) 21:30, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- Regarding Carlos Latuff's cartoon: The cartoon is pretty neutral (It's not one of his controversial ones), it just Khader Adnan with Palestinian flag. We had Carlos' cartoon about Women to drive movement on the front page in the DYK section and I recall that no1 said anything then. -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 21:57, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- There was also once a Latuff cartoon at Mubarak's article, but consensus was to remove it. There are problems with Latuff and his illustrations. In this case he chose to depict a member of the Islamic Jihad, an overtly Islamist organization whose logo doesn't include the Palestinian flag, as though he embraces the flag as his symbol. That's the kind of political commentary we need to avoid in BLP articles. We don't know enough about this guy's religious and political views to impose a symbol upon him he may in all likelihood reject or feel ambivalent towards.—Biosketch (talk) 22:23, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- This shoukld be in talk. and its silly and pedantic to suggest there shouldnt be a flag...but thats for the talk page. anyways, we dont have to include gthe pic on the main page. if the article is fine then its okey and talk page consensus has no pov issues outstandng as multiple editors have refuted it.
- per the flag issue, EVERY person in the world who has not EXPCLICTLY mentioned their nationality should have that removed? thats silly.Lihaas (talk) 22:58, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

- alt ... that Khader Adnan, a prisoner in Israel, is on the longest hunger strike in Palestinian history to protest the policy of administrative detention?
- alt2 ... that since the day following his arrest by Israel on 17 December 2011, Khader Adnan is on hunger strike to protest the policy of administrative detention?
- Plot Spoiler, kinldy keep your ANPA attacks and "bias" out. this is a dyk revirew for CINTENT and im in no way involved on this nor has there been a controversial edit...if you have a prob with an editor then take it elsewhere. and theres diddly-squat on the article page to suggest anything untowards
- At any rate, youre the onlt one with a problem so dont turn it on me that there are pov issues on the page. consensus is against you
- removing hold...talk page consensus is strongly against pov allefgations by 1 editor. we cant be held hostage here, kindly see talk. Biosketch hasnt even said anything on the issue here. Further DYK is transparent (per reasons given, and my initial hold too) on content not pov issues and politics
- alt3 ... following his arrest by Israel Khader Adnan has been on the longest hunger strike to protest his administrative detention?Lihaas (talk) 22:38, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- I like the first and third alt hooks, but can't decide between the two. I don't care which is chosen as long the original is replaced. Cheers. --Al Ameer son (talk)
