Judy Smith homicide
[edit]- ... that no explanation has been found for why Judy Smith's remains were found in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest 20 years ago today, five months after she was last seen in a Philadelphia hotel? "Boston nurse vanished in Philadelphia, found dead in North Carolina", news.com.au, May 14, 2016
- ALT1:... that a Buncombe County, North Carolina, deputy sheriff interrupted his convalescence from back surgery to investigate a body discovered 20 years ago today and crushed his sciatic nerve as a result? "The Boys from Buncombe", Philadelphia City Paper; October 9–16, 1997

- Comment: I would like this to run on September 7. Yes, I know we're getting close. And believe it or not, if someone can hold two spots open in the queue (which seems to be all that are left at the moment), I intend to see if I can get in another unsolved killing from North Carolina that hits its fifth anniversary that same day. So ... keep that in mind.

- Daniel Case New, in time, long enough sourced, neutral, no apparent copyvios, hooks check out, QPQ done. I'd post that second DYK quickly if you want it to run in four days! --Usernameunique (talk) 23:16, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
