Joshua L. Goldberg

[edit]

Joshua L. Goldberg

  • ... that Joshua L. Goldberg (pictured), the first rabbi to serve as a WWII U.S. Navy Chaplain, had deserted from the Russian Army to fight in the American infantry in France during WWI before attending rabbinical school in New York City?

..but hook is too long. Suggest ALT2: that Joshua L. Goldberg (pictured) was the first rabbi to serve as a WWII U.S. Navy Chaplain? -- Chesdovi (talk) 12:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

No problem with ALT2 except that Goldberg's background is *so* unusual that I would hope that something of that "unusualness" could be included.... What about ALT3: that Joshua L. Goldberg (pictured), the first rabbi to serve as a World War II U.S. Navy Chaplain, first fought in the Russian army? NearTheZoo (talk) 12:49, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Howabout ALT4: that Joshua L. Goldberg (pictured), the first rabbi to serve as a World War II U.S. Navy Chaplain, deserted the the Russian army during WWI?
Or ALT5: that Joshua L. Goldberg (pictured), the first rabbi to serve as a World War II U.S. Navy Chaplain, was a Russian army deserter? -- Chesdovi (talk) 15:30, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Either one sounds great to me! I'd support the one you like better! Thanks very much. NearTheZoo (talk) 22:33, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

ALT5 good to go. Chesdovi (talk) 11:45, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
