Source: Page 103: "Mr Farrah ... a great Yorkshire character" and p.412: "He was ... very severe with those who collected rare plants or anything which might in any way have a harmful effect upon the flora or fauna of the county. More than one over-enthusiastic character has received such a "dressing down" from John Farrah that they will remember it to the end of their days."
