- Deliberately cryptic for the last slot. Philafrenzy (talk) 10:20, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- This article is new enough and long enough. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. A QPQ has been done. The hook facts are not cited inline, and I am not sure it is correct anyway, because nobody forced him to learn Italian. Incidentally, it dawned on me as I read the article that I knew the family; I have seen John Cule in the ring at local shows in "trotting" races, a younger Cule was my GP for a while, and another was a local vet. - Thank you @Cwmhiraeth:. Interesting...I have heard of him from a number of people in history of medicine circles. A more serious hook can be thought of, or ..
- ALT1:... that John Cule learnt Italian from his batman, an Italian prisoner of war? Whispyhistory (talk) 06:52, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Original seems OK to me. The source says "he had little choice but to quickly become fluent in Italian" as his batman spoke no English. It's inline ref 2. Someone can be forced by circumstances, as he was. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:47, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- With the changes made to the article I am happy with ALT0 and ALT1. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:35, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
