Jessie Daniel Ames
- ... that Texas suffragist Jessie Daniel Ames founded the Association of Southern Women for the Prevention of Lynching in 1930 which appealed directly to white southern women to stop lynching? Source: "In 1930, Ames, with the CIC's financial help, founded the Association of Southern Women for the Prevention of Lynching (ASWPL) with headquarters in Atlanta. The organization excluded African American women and appealed directly to white southern women to stop lynching." 5x expanded by ZoyaBoris (talk). Self-nominated at 04:16, 23 September 2019 (UTC).
- Note: No QPQ needed, as the nominator has only one DYK credit. RebeccaGreen (talk) 06:52, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- The expansion is not showing as large enough for me: just under 2x compared to the needed 5x. That's a shame, as this is a wonderful and well-sourced expansion. The last revision before your edits had a prose size of 3500 characters, and the current revision has 6900. Raymie (t • c) 18:41, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
- @ZoyaBoris: Will you be able to bring this to 5x expansion (i.e. around 17500 characters)? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:18, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: It's going to be difficult to expand the article to 17500 characters. I think that I can expand it to that length but it will take time to do additional research. It's probably better to withdraw the DYK nomination for now. ZoyaBoris (talk) 02:36, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
