- Comment: Image is a little blurry, I won't be offended if you say quality is insufficient. ALT2 is just a shortened ALT1, since that one is rather long (though imo that's part of its hookiness).
- ALT1:
Created by Penny Richards (talk). Nominated by LordPeterII (talk) at 20:16, 28 October 2022 (UTC).
- will review, know already before reading that the original hook appeals to me more, but would need more context (She American, at what time). The ALTs show wealth from foreign cultures, - is that (all) we want to say about her (on top of me not liking a possessive, then pictured, then what belongs to the person)? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:18, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Interesting life on fine sources, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed, and great in small size. - I'm close to striking the ALTs as picturing none of achievements but cultural wealth accumulated because her husband was a diplomat. I'd like to say that she opened her little pricate school at her hoe for the local children, - perhaps you can word that. Or other ALTs, below please.
- In the article, I think her husband should be linked when they meet, and that you can't call her Stoltzfus before they even met. I'd love more lead, establishing the same context I miss in the first hook- not needed for approval, but strongly recommended. I'd love to know how she suddenly is in Beirut, and com that she published for senior in London, - just curious. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:32, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with Gerda Arendt that the ALTs are not interesting. In addition, the cited Department of State News Letter speaks of the "first foreign school" in Yemen, which may be more interesting than the first non-religious one. -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 18:58, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
- As LordPeterII has vanished, pinging article creator Penny Richards to see whether there is any interest in pursuing a DYK nomination, which may involve addressing issues with the nomination (a few mentioned above) and perhaps in proposing other hooks. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:20, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Sure, I will get on that. I don't think I even realized this DYK was in progress, sorry for not noticing sooner. I agree that "first foreign school" is probably a more interesting phrase for the original hook. I'll get on some of the other thoughts above today. Penny Richards (talk) 14:37, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Added requested details to lead and linked husband in better place, changing her name before that. Will dig around a little for more details on her other activities. Penny Richards (talk) 14:57, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for all that! Please reword the original hook to your liking, Penny, then I can probably approve, - her other activities can come later, - it will take more than a week until she will appear anyway. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:02, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

- Done! Increased the article a bit with a few more refs; still not finding much more about The Ellesmere Gazette, though. Penny Richards (talk) 16:09, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. I moved it down here, for just in case someone may wonder what the original hook was they should not have to turn to the archives.
- I believe that we can have the first-phrase without quotation marks, but the prep builder can take of that. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:22, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Where does it say first foreign school in the article? SL93 (talk) 01:08, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
- It doesn't. Penny Richards, Gerda Arendt, the nomination cannot be approved if the hook fact is not in the article, which at present only talks about her establishing the first non-religious school. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:45, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
- It does now. In the top, with a ref. Penny Richards (talk) 04:00, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
