Jérôme Chappellaz
- ... that Jérôme Chappellaz (pictured) wants to collect ice cores from Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro to preserve them in Antarctica? Source:https://knowablemagazine.org/article/physical-world/2020/ice-core-vault "The Ice Memory team particularly wants to drill and preserve an ice core from Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which is home to Africa’s only glaciers that are suitable for paleoclimate studies."

- Comment: Lots of interesting stuff, but I think that ice from an African mountain is the hookiest. I worked on the draft a long time, it just moved to main space today 1/25

- Long enough, new enough, checked with Earwig found no copyvio, QPQ?
There should be a way to avoid having those redlinks in English - as probably not needed do you think? cannot remember how offhand. Or is there anything we could redirect to?
- @Chidgk1: I have removed the redlinks, with an explanation on the talk page. My QPQ, which is listed above, was for Mirabel Madrigal. HouseOfChange (talk) 21:01, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- @HouseOfChange: Duh obviously I was subconsciously looking for "QPQ". Hope I have not messed anything up with my tweaks - please could you check. Do you happen to know whether the Tanzanian govt has given permission yet? If they definitely have not we could add the lack of it to the hook to nudge them. Everything looks fine - approved. Thanks for nice article. Chidgk1 (talk) 08:56, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Chidgk1: Thanks for the review and kind words! This 2019 article from a Tanzania source suggests that permission is granted already. Covid has slowed planning and funding for many scientific projects. HouseOfChange (talk) 13:15, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
