Ionia Rollin Whipper
[edit]- ... that Ionia Rollin Whipper, who earned her MD from Howard University in 1903, was one of the first African-American obstetricians?
- ALT1:... that African-American obstetrician Ionia Rollin Whipper worked for the United States Children's Bureau to train midwives in the South in the 1920s?
- ALT2:... that African-American obstetrician Ionia Rollin Whipper opened Washington, DC's first non-racially-segregated home for unwed mothers in 1931?

- New enough. Long enough. Well written. Neutral, dispassionate tone. Most of the sources are offline, so AGF here. One online source checks out. All hooks are cited. I personally prefer ALT2. Good to go for ALT2. Hybernator (talk) 23:30, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

- Does it matter for DYK? The editor has placed them for future expansion. But they don't interfere negatively with the narrative. If anything, I think of them as minders. But I'll defer to more experienced DYK editors for guidance here. Hybernator (talk) 00:32, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

- The problematic templates are no longer on the article. Article is long enough and new enough, as Yoninah already noted. I did not see evidence of copyvio or close paraphrasing. Both of the ALT hooks are supported by the online source; I have to AGF on the original hook. I agree with Yoninah that ALT2 is the best choice. --Orlady (talk) 02:45, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
