Impala
[edit]- ... that impala (pictured) are known for their unique leaping ability, reaching heights up to 3 m (9.8 ft)?
Improved to Good Article status by Sainsf (talk). Nominated by --Dendro†NajaTalk to me! 01:22, 29 March 2014 (UTC).
- Thanks DendroNaja for nominating this for DYK. I wasn't aware of the improvements here, that even recent GAs are allowed. The hook is perfect and the best for this article, but I have three suggestions:
- I think you should say Impala rather than Impalas, as throughout the article the plural form used is impala only.
- I am not sure whether significant fits in here. Can not the impala do without this ability? It is just an aspect of anti-predator behavior. I feel we could have the simple term unique (as used in the article after much discussion in the GA review) unless you can think of a better word.
- Unless you are particularly interested in depicting the leap, we could have a clearer image of an impala. Personally, I feel we could do with an image like this one. Sainsf <^>Talk all words 09:11, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
- Note: I may not be available for a day or two. In case I am not around, you may do as you like with this DYK. Thanks, Sainsf <^>Talk all words 09:11, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
- Under DYK rules, only free images that appear in the article in question can be used for DYK nominations, so the suggested replacement is not eligible. Also, "impala" should be lowercase in the hook; a hook should be capitalized as if it were a regular sentence.
- Full review needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:32, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
- This article is a new GA and is new enough and long enough. The hook is cited and the image is appropriately licensed and very spectacular. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:46, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
