I Got U
[edit]- ...
that Annie Mac replayed Duke Dumont's "I Got U" halfway through because she couldn't get enough of it?
- Created by Launchballer (talk). Self nominated at 15:03, 17 March 2014 (UTC).

... that half way through playing Duke Dumont's "I Got U", DJ Annie Mac restarted the song because she couldn't get enough of it?
- I found the first hook tricky to understand - this may be better Victuallers (talk) 15:09, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

- Full review needed. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:24, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- Date and length fine. I was initially unsure of Earmilk as an RS but since it is used on other pages, I am satisfied that it is. Alt1 is better. QPQ not needed as creator only has 1 credit. Alt1 Good to go. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:21, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
- No, Launchballer has well in excess of 30 DYKs, so a QPQ is definitely required. SagaciousPhil - Chat 10:55, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
- Launchballer you can't yet claim QPQ for Template:Did you know nominations/List of Olympians and Paralympians from Peel. First, you did not sign to indicate which review is yours. Second, your review (I'm assuming it's yours) does not include a full DYK check. What about sourcing? And who is it that proposed ALT4? Which hooks have you checked? And which hook/s are you okaying? A more thorough job is needed there. EagerToddler39 (talk) 03:28, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- There are two QPQs for this review. I have already used one.--Launchballer 12:25, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, but that's one of those unappealing DYK hooks we've been criticized for. Is there nothing better to turn into a hook? And if there isn't, maybe it just shouldn't run. Drmies (talk) 03:31, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
- ALT2:
... that Wyclef Jean co-wrote "I Got U"?--Launchballer 07:24, 9 May 2014 (UTC)- I hadn't commented because I was hoping someone else would jump in and I don't always want to be the asshole, but at the prompting of BlueMoonset I will. Sorry, but I don't see how this is exciting. First of all it's quite factual, suggesting a "so what?" response. Second, I guess the idea is that "famous person writes song for not-famous person"--is that correct? It's hard to judge, since ALT2 doesn't even have the name of the performer in there, and even if Duke Dumont were added (like in the first hook--and wikilink, please), I still don't get it. Why would the average reader (or even the non-average reader) be struck by the fact that Wyclef Jean co-wrote a song? Drmies (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
- ALT3: ... that Duke Dumont's "I Got U" contains "all the summertime essentials: steel drums, Balearic synths and a myriad of earworm hooks"?--Launchballer 21:51, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
- That's not bad. And it's verified. (Wow, that is one boring song.) Pity you can't put inquisitive monkeys in there, cause that's fun but from the video (and GQ Magazine needs to be wikilinked and italicized in the article). BlueMoonset, are the quotation marks enough or does this needs a "according to"? Drmies (talk) 21:56, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

- Date and length OK. QPQ OK. No disambig links. ALT3 is acceptable and supported by an online citation. I have not found any plagiarism. Two issues: The image filepage is flagged as possibly non-free, so if you want to continue this DYK nom, please remove the image from the article. External link #19 is inaccessible and needs to be deleted. If you can resolve these two issues, this nom is (at last!) good to go. --Storye book (talk) 08:02, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- Image removed, but I am having no difficulties accessing ref #19. Do you mean a different ref?--Launchballer 10:11, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you Launchballer for removing the image. You are right - citation #19 is the one I meant, and it is still flagged by the DYK check system as inaccessible, but it is now working fine. Good to go (at last!). --Storye book (talk) 10:35, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
