Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets (New York City Subway)

[edit]
  • ... that all of the proposals to honor Michael Jackson at New York City's Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets subway station have been declined? Source: NY Times. "How could Michael Jackson be memorialized at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway station? Not in many ways, apparently. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has shot down nearly every suggestion to honor Michael Jackson at the station where he filmed his 1987 “Bad” video, directed by Martin Scorsese."
    • ALT1:... that New York City's Hoyt–Schermerhorn Streets station has two abandoned platforms and tracks that are occasionally used for film shoots? Source: Brooklyn Paper. "The station boasts six tracks, although the outer two aren’t in use — which is part of the reason why film crews often shoot in the station."

  • New: GA on 15 Jan 2018
  • Long enough: Lede alone is over 1,500 chars
  • Within policy: Quick scan and Earwig reveal no issues, GA review in order
  • Format: Both 130 chars and guidelines met, perfect
  • Content: Both options very catchy, supported by inline cite and neutral. But since the main proposal is not actually mentioned in the article prose explicitly, I would suggest using ALT1 with a slight modification per the article for accuracy: "often used" to "occasionally used." But the main suggestion is far more catchy, so if it's included into article prose, I would use that one! Maybe also link one more item on the hook?

Epicgenius, review done. Something to have another look at in content. Moved the nom to Jan 15 subheading per GA review date. Manelolo (talk) 08:29, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
@Manelolo: Thank you for the review. I have adjusted the article to include the info mentioned in ALT0 (main hook suggestion), so I think we could use that hook now. I'm not all that enthusiastic about linking another article in the hook, because it takes away page views from the article being featured, but if it's really necessary we can link Jackson's name. epicgenius (talk) 16:20, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
@Epicgenius: Nah, just if you wanted to link some and had overlooked it. ALT0 good to go. Manelolo (talk) 16:32, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
