Hocutt v. Wilson
[edit]... that Hocutt v. Wilson was the first attempt to desegregate higher education in the United States?- ALT1... that Hocutt v. Wilson, the first attempt to desegregate higher education in the United States, was dismissed for lack of standing because the president of the university implicated refused to release the transcript of the plaintiff?

- Long enough, well-written and reference (the transcript thing is slighly confusing and might benefit from contextualisation). I find the hook rather restrained compared to the great interest of the article, but this is a matter of taste. Rama (talk) 06:15, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- To answer the question asked on my talk page: the hook as written here is quite fine; if I had proposed the article for DYK, I might have gone for something like
- "that Hocutt v. Wilson, the first attempt to desegregate higher education in the United States, was dismissed for lack of standing because the president of the university implicated refused to release the transcript of the plaintiff?".
