Herbert Haddock
[edit]- ... that the first captain of the Titanic was Captain Haddock?

- Comment: I asked at WT:DYK#Special holding what acceptable lengths for special occasion holding was. Assuming it's 6 weeks, I request that (providing the hook is promoted) that this is held until 15 April to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking. Thanks in advance. matt (talk) 17:00, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- ALT 1:... that seven weeks after the Titanic disaster, Herbert Haddock – Titanic's first captain – almost ran Olympic aground near Land's End?
- ALT 2:... that Herbert Haddock – Titanic's first captain – was described as being the "only skipper in the Atlantic trade who wears the mid-Victorian mutton chop whiskers without a beard or mustache"?
- There's a couple of ALTs if necessary, but I much prefer the hookiness of the original submission. matt (talk) 09:56, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
