Herb Roedel
- ... that Herb Roedel retired from professional football after just a single season? Source: Database showing 1961 as his only season - Source mentioning his retirement from early 1962 ("The guard situation, critical at best, became worse yesterday when young Herb Roedel, the third guard last year, informed Feldman that he was quitting football to concentrate on an engineering career.")
- ALT1 ... that Herb Roedel retired from professional football after only one season to become an engineer? Souce: same as above.

- I say this would be better, since retiring from football after a season isn't very hooky to the general audience, but this in my opinion is better, plus it has the same source and everything, ...that Herb Roedel retired from professional football after only one season to instead focus on engineering? - I agree with you, so I've added an ALT1 hook based on your suggestion (with a few minor changes). BeanieFan11 (talk) 23:05, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Article meets DYK requirements and a QPQ has been provided. I also didn't find any close paraphrasing. It seems there's agreement here to go with ALT1: it's mentioned in the article, cited inline, and verified in the source. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:37, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
