Helsinki Old Church
[edit]- ... that the Old Church of Helsinki was originally intended as a temporary building to serve the parish until the consecration of the Helsinki Cathedral?
- Comment: Technically, I started this already on the 15th as a tiny stub with the intention of finishing it in the following day or two, but got busy with other things. Should meet the 5x expansion criteria at least, if the start date is not recent enough... --KFP (contact - edits) 21:52, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

- The article is new, expanded fivefold, 5 days before nomination. The hook is not to long, 150 characters. Length of the article is ok, 1849 characters.
- I used Google Translate to translate the main source and did not see that it was the purpose of "a temporary building to serve the parish". Is it possible to provide a quote from the source used for this statement?
- Hi! The following sentences in the sources discuss this:
- "Kirkko rakennettiin hirsistä väliaikaiseksi kirkoksi, kun kaupunkiseurakunnan Ulrika Eleonoran kirkko nykyisellä Senaatintorilla purettiin uuden monumentaalikeskustan tieltä." (in [1])
- "Kirkon rakentamiseen ryhdyttiin, koska Ulrika Eleonoran kirkko (rak. vuonna 1727) nykyisellä Senaatintorilla oli käynyt liian ahtaaksi, ja ennen uuden katedraalin, nykyisen Tuomiokirkon, valmistumista tarvittiin väliaikainen jumalanpalveluspaikka." (in [2])
(in [3]). --KFP (contact - edits) 15:34, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- The article is properly referenced.
- The article is stable.
- The article and hook are neutral. I am not sure if the hook is properly formated because the name of the article (Helsinki Old Church) and wikilink (Old Church) are different.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 08:50, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- That should be fine as a piped link, since Helsinky is right in the hook. Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:46, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, although machine translation I used doesn't result with word parish, it is obvious from the context. You are also right about the piped link. Although it is generally discouraged, it is allowed if the hook looks better.
- I think this hook is good to go. I will AGF with translation.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 17:15, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
