Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam

[edit]
  • ALT1:... that Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam was the main architect of Iranian missile and the founder of the deterrent power of Iran against any enemy?
  • ALT2:... that Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam was Iranian missile architect who was known as the father of Iran's missile program?
  • ALT3:... that Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam had developed Lebanese Hezbollah missile unit in the years 1986–87?

5x expanded by AliAkar (talk). Nominated by AliAkar (talk) at 10:02, 4 January 2015 (UTC).

  • The article is long enough and expanded five times since 27 December. The article is also properly cited to reliable sources. The hook is interesting and consisted of 116 characters and the image is properly licensed. However, the nominator should consider the following:
  1. The hook is not verified based on the citations. The sources don't mention Tehrani Moghadam as the developer.
  2. The article should be edited so that it approach neutrality.
  3. The language should be enhanced so that it qualifies an encyclopedic article. May be p-123 can help you with this.
  4. The article does not cover the title properly.
  5. "Father of Iran's missile program" is not a suitable heading.
Do your best solving the above issues. Mhhossein (talk) 18:33, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
  • @Mhhossein: Development and test news of the first family of Iranian solid-fueled ballistic missiles were mentioned in the 2 reliable sources (defense-update and BBC website). Usually, such news was announced with chiefs or president of a country not with the creator or developer. Therefore, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared and confirmed in defense-update website and Defence Minister Mohammed Najjar announced in BBC. Also, for security matter don’t report the name of creator or developer in media or sources when he is still alive. After death of Tehrani Moghaddam, the Fars news agency published a news about Iranian’s missiles that threaten the Israel and mentioned on Tehrani Moghaddam memoires about these missiles (http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=13930823000590). Another reason, this missile is the product of "self-sufficiency" unit of the Revolutionary Guard and the head of it was Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam. He and his team worked in this unit and this missile is one of their products. AliAkar (talk) 13:12, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
  • I read the report by Fars news. There it is mentioned that Sejjil missile is a product of Ashura project. Can you find more information about it? there should be explicitly mentioned who managed the project. As for "self-sufficiency", it should be mentioned by a source that he, as head of this unit, managed to develop this missile. Mhhossein (talk) 13:31, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
  • @Mhhossein: 1. The Ashura project is development of medium and long-range ballistic missiles and the Ashura missile was the first missile in this project. After development of this missile, they can increase rang of it and develop the Sejjil missiles. Therefore, family of medium and long-range ballistic missiles was started with Ashura missile and after it, Sejjil missile was developed. Also, the alternate name of Sejjil missile is Ashoura or Ashura. There is additional information in Ashoura (missile) page in Wikipedia and Sejjil-123. 2. In 16 December 2006, Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam was selected as advisor to the commander in chief of the Revolutionary Guard and head of “self-sufficiency” unit of the Revolutionary Guard (Electronically Magazine about Tehrani Mighaddam). Furthermore, after his death all news agency were mentioned head of “self-sufficiency as his affiliation. There are several link in news agency that conformed. 3. About his role in management of Sejjil missile, I found a documentary film with title of “from Tehran to Tel Aviv in 7 Minutes” that showed Tehrani role in Iranian missile program. Also, directly showed his role in Hezbollah and 2006 Lebanon War and Gaza War (2008–09). In this film we can see introduction of Iranian missile and also Sejjil and the showed Tehrani role’s in management of these missiles. You can see this film in Soraya TV website. In Tasnim News Agency, we can see the documents that confirmed his management in development of these missiles. 4. Another documentary film with title of "A man with a long-range dreams" were make that is about his management and role in Iranian missile program. You can see in Soraya TV website.AliAkar (talk) 13:21, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks for providing valuable information. We need better sources for this claim. Media sources are not acceptable here. Try finding more reliable sources or suggesting a new alternative hook. Mhhossein (talk) 19:03, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
  • @Mhhossein: 1. The reliable sources for his role in the Revolutionary Guard and selected him as head of “self-sufficiency” unit of the Revolutionary Guard. The guardian writes that Moghaddam was headed a "self-sufficiency" unit of the armaments section. I add this source in the article. 2. In the Wikipedia, media sources are acceptable source and we can use it. In this documentary film, you can see the role of Tehrani Moghaddam in Iranian missile program and Lebanese Hezbollah missile unit. In first section of it, we can see the Israeli newspaper that wrote about Tehrani Moghaddam (10:53" to 11). Therefore, this source is appropriate for this subject. 3. I suggest 3 new alternative hooks. AliAkar (talk) 14:44, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
ALT1 is not a fact. It is a statement by some one named "Salami", so I can't pass it. ALT2 and ALT3 are not supported by reliable sources. By the way, ALT3 is not an interesting point and I suggest you to find a reliable source for ALT2. I know that he is called the father of "Iran's missile program", but just a source!. Mhhossein (talk) 08:32, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
  • @Mhhossein: HAMSHAHRIONLINE has stated that he spent 25 years old in his life for developing and expanding Iranian missile program and known him as father of Iranian missile program. This website is a reliable source for ALT2.AliAkar (talk) 08:50, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
@Mhhossein: The article was edited with P-123 and Salman mahdi.AliAkar (talk) 08:27, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT2 is acceptable now and the language is enhanced. Enough materials are inserted to introduce him. Good to go! Mhhossein (talk) 18:45, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
