This monument, datable on stylistic grounds to the early ninth century, is best known...

On the basis of the architectural details M. W. Meister dates the complex at Abaneri c. AD 800 to 825.

... that the original superstructure of the 9th century Harshat Mata Temple (pictured) has been replaced with a dome?

On approaching it from the surrounding desert fields (pl. I), the structure looms, low and imposing, now crowned with an unsightly dome. [...] When its superstructure (śikhara) and full sculptural program were still intact, however, it must have been an impressive monument...

- Article is long / new enough, QPQ is done, images are licensed correctly, there are no obvious copyright violations, article is stable, uses reliable sources, and reads neutrally. The hook is cited, but I'm not too convinced it is "hooky" enough. Aren't many Hindu temples older than 1,000 years? There should be something more interesting about the temple than that. The article is very detailed so I'm sure something else can be proposed. Please ping me when alternate hooks are provided so I can review them.
- @MX: Lead fixed. How about ALT1? (added above) utcursch | talk 21:20, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- Strictly, the two superstructures have been replaced with two domes (plus a third small one on a separate structure). The one the source refers to is not visible in the current photo, though other photos used in the article include it. Johnbod (talk) 01:10, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
- New proposed hook is interesting. The rest of the review stands. No more issues here. MX (✉ • ✎) 16:00, 22 October 2019 (UTC)

@Utcursch: I'm proposing several new hooks. Pinging Yoninah to see if she can review this. MX (✉ • ✎) 21:24, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
- ALT2:
... that the lack of historical information about the Harshat Mata Temple prevents historians from attributing it with certainty to a particular ruler? - ALT3
... epigraphic evidence and information about the original builder of the Harshat Mata Temple are unknown? - ALT4
... the main shrine of the Harshat Mata Temple depicts figures of a royal figure and his wives engaging in sexual activity?
- @MX: I've struck ALT2 and ALT3 because the facts are vague. ALT4 has potential, though according to the article it should be written:
- ALT4a: ... that the main shrine of the Harshat Mata Temple (pictured) depicts a royal figure and his consorts engaged in amorous activities?
- ALT4a offline hook ref AGF and cited inline. Rest of review per MX. ALT4a good to go. Yoninah (talk) 22:51, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
