Albatros D.V

  • Comment: Started draft on 28 March 2012 in my user space, moved to article space on 30 March 2012, so using that date.

  • Congrats on your 5th DYK yesterday, ACP2011. QPQ reviews, please. --PFHLai (talk) 08:26, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Note that at the time this article was nominated, the nominator only had three DYK credits. QPQ is not necessary. - The Bushranger One ping only 19:39, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

  • Length and newness are fine. The hook fact may be correct but I cannot see it mentioned in the article. How about:

ALT1 ... that WWI British flying ace Harold Stackard was credited with fifteen aerial victories? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:07, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

I don't think that my use of the word "majority" was sufficiently exact. I was trying to convey, in the least number of words, that the aircraft against which Harold scored was most frequently the Albatros D.V. My wording was perhaps a little clumsy. The specific victories against the Albatros are detailed and then in picture form at the bottom of the article, I showed the six of his victories that were against the Albatros D.V. (the single greatest category). Perhaps another alternate could be:

ALT2 ... that WWI British flying ace Harold Stackard scored six of his fifteen aerial victories against the Albatros D.V (pictured)? However, if you prefer your hook and without the image, that's fine. Thank you. Anne (talk) 09:04, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

The specific requirement for DYK is that the "hook fact is accurate and cited with an inline citation in the article". I think this is not the case with either of your proposed hooks so I would still go for ALT1 which does have an inline citation. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:45, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
Sounds fine. Thank you. Anne (talk) 02:49, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
