- Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I find the hook a bit complicated, not seeing what the 25th anniversary adds, nor understanding why "had convinced". What do you think of simply
- ALT1: ... that in 1972, Guido Goldman convinced the then West German chancellor Willy Brandt to set up and endow the German Marshall Fund? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:38, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Gerda Arendt, Looks good. We need to tie it to the anniversary of the Marshall Plan to add to the interestingness quotient. Else, this might be read as just another funding event. Ktin (talk) 21:06, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- I don't agree, because those who won't associate the "Marshall Plan" per "Marshall Fund" will probably also not be interested in some anniversary. I'd rather mention "confidant of Kissinger", to connect to something known. A Chancellor is no person for a simple funding thing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:22, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Gerda Arendt, Adding Henry Kissinger will make it cluttered, but, sure, we can add that. But, my thinking is that we should include Marshall Plan as well. Maybe we write out both Althooks and have the posting Admin take a call. Please let me know if that would work. Thanks. Ktin (talk) 21:39, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- The prep builder doesn't have to be an admin. I don't think that we need "Marshall" twice in one short sentence, but perhaps you can find a different reviewer for that. Why would you say "had convinced" instead of "convinced"? ... and why "setup" instead of "set up"? - I have a few more things to do for the short time before sleep, - take your time. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:46, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Gerda Arendt, had convinced vs convinced and setup instead of set up, were stylization notes, and I am perfectly fine with your changes on that front. Both are grammatically right, imo. But, I appreciate your edits on that one, and I am good with that change. Ktin (talk) 21:51, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- ALT1 is approved then. I'll keep watching in case you have other ideas. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:51, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. ALT2 has been added below. Ktin (talk) 03:59, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
