Ok, I'll take this one on. New enough, long enough. First paragraph is uncited. Whilst it doesn't have any bearing on DYK, I wonder whether within that paragraph, should the German term "lied" be shown with its English translation given that it will confuse most readers until such time that they follow the link? The hook does not check out; she won the Lower Saxony State Prize in 2015; the article should use the English title as per the link target, rather than the German term. In addition, the hook should not imply that she was professor at the time of receiving the award as she had retired three years earlier. As all sources are in German, I don't think that Earwig's Copyvio Detector needs to even be bothered about copyvio issues. Schwede66 08:18, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

- If you'd translate lied you'd have to say "art song in German", and to me it's like explaining what symphony or opera mean. That's what links are for, - helping those unfamiliar to more info without molesting those who know it already. The award was for her life's work, - but I tried. I didn't create the article on the award, - I would have used the German as the common name. Using the translation in the hook is for our "general readership". A German Land/Staat is so different from the normal or U.S. understanding of "state" that I'm afraid we loose precision when translating (in the article). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:48, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, Gerda. One hook problem remains. If someone from our "general readership" opens the target article, they won’t find anything about the Lower Saxony State Prize as mentioned in the hook. What do you suggest we do to overcome that issue? Schwede66 16:27, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
