Grinding Stone (album)
- ... that after his first solo album, Grinding Stone, Gary Moore didn't make another one for five years? Source: "Gary Moore’s first solo album in 1973 quickly disappeared without trace .... 1978’s Back On The Streets is really where the Gary Moore story begins." ([1])

- Interesting facts about a forgotten album, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I am not quite familiar jargon, please explain just for me what "split up the band" means. Can we have the image a bit larger, and aligned with the header box? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:08, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- "Split up the band" means the group leader (or leaders, or by mutual consent, the whole group) says, "Right, we're not going to be gigging any more, you'll all have to join some other group". As for the picture rearrangement, I don't know how to do that, maybe RexxS does? (though I would draw your attention to this comment). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:24, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for explaining, both. I was confused, thinkining Thin Lizzy was one of the songs, not the new band, sorry. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:36, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Small point re "departure from his later solo work"...how can can anything be a departure from something yet to happen. Also re the hook, best to avoid run-on blue links (Grinding Stone, Gary Moore). Anyway, Gary Moore fan here. Ceoil (talk) 21:59, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- I see no confusion with the links, separated by a comma, and one bold, the other not. But thanks for the other. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:22, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

- ALT1 "... that blues-rock guitarist Gary Moore did not follow up his 1973 debut solo album Grinding Stone for another five years?
- I'd like to from Ritchie. "blues-rock guitarist" helps the general reader, I think. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:54, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Well he's not really a "blues-rock guitarist" on that album; it's a mixture of jazz fusion, bit of blues, and some Santana rip-offs. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:00, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
